Gun Show

dress: Unif, long cardigan: who the hell knows, boots: Charles David, belt: F21

I love this dress. From the moment I saw it on Karmaloop, I knew I had to have it. Only then, it had long mesh sleeves attached. I don't do long sleeves often for a couple of reasons, a) It's usually really hot here, no one wants to sweat that much. b) I have really long arms. Most long sleeves don't reach my wrists. It's ok, I'm used to it. But with this dress I encountered a new issue. My arms were too BIG for the sleeves. Not long, BIG. I couldn't get my biceps through. So I had two options. Send it back for a larger size but that would make the dress bigger everywhere else. Or...cut off the sleeves. Option number 2 won and it's been working for me.

After School

shirt: H&M, skirt: F21, OTK socks: Target, boots: Charles David, peace sign cuff: Lucky Brand

Feeling extremely like an off duty private school girl. untucked button down, sunglasses, and knee socks. Isn't this the type of stuff they wear? I'm a public school girl, I have no idea how the other side lives. I never had to wear a uniform, thank God! Such a loss of individualism. And what could be worse than that?

But it's Black Friday!

tank: Victoria's Secret PINK, jeans: Levi's, grandpa cardigan: Old Navy, sneaks: Converse

I could not believe it. I had to work on Black Friday. I've never had an office job where I had to work the Friday after Thanksgiving. Well, fine. I'll come in, but I'm gonna be as comfy as possible while doing so. Nothing more comfortable than jeans, sneakers, and a tank top. Maybe pajamas, but I thought that would be pushing it. I came home after 8 hours and plopped myself on the floor. I figured why not take a few shots form down here. Then Lando wanted in on the action.

It's About Time!!

beanie: Target, tank: Express, jeans: American Eagle, cardigan: Target, boots: Jeffery Campbell

I woke up this morning to 69 degree weather! I've been waiting for months for this to happen. This is as close as we get to a serious autumn here in Ft Lauderdale. And it will be over in 2 days. I took advantage while I could and pulled out my favorite cardigan. I found it on a clearance rack at Target for $10. It's a XXL so it pretty much hangs off of me, like any good sweater should. Soft and ridiculously comfortable. I could live in this thing...if I lived somewhere colder.

Preppy!

dress: Kohl's; belt: F21; booties: Payless

When I say preppy, I mean for me. This shirt dress is as preppy as I ever get. It's not really my kinda style. But I've always wanted a shirt dress. I stumbled across this one on the clearance rack during a mother-daughter shopping day. I got rid of the matching belt, as I usual do and swapped it for this black one with matching teal design.

Lazy Days

shirt: Charlotte Russe; skirt: bebe; socks: Hot Topic; boots: Jeffery Campbell

This outfit is the result of a long weekend of drunken debauchery. I woke op Monday morning wanting to wear pajamas to work. I got close. Just soft layer after soft layer. I "dressed it up" with heels. It was the closet I was getting to decent to leave the house.

Turban Time

shirt: H&M; shorts:F21; belt: H&M; shoes: Jessica Simpson; scarf: Hot Topic

This is the first time I tried a turban, not sure how I feel about it. Maybe next time I'll use a more subdued scarf. Or tie it a different way. I know this won't be my last attempt.

9 to 5

blazer: Forever 21; tank & pants: H&M; wedges: H by Halston; purse: Ecko Red

It's been a few years since I had a 9 to 5 job. Nights and weekends to myself? Yes, please. Lucky for me, this job is pretty lenient with what I wear so while I may look professional here (or as professional as I get) it doesn't always have to be that way. I must say, it's fun getting to think out my outfits in the morning. Bartending never really gave me a lot of choices.
I love this blazer. Which is weird, I'm not really a blazer person. But the cheetah print lining won me over immediately. Funky is how I like my clothes and music. Now I must go listen to George Clinton.

Yellow to Brighten Gray Skies

top: Free People; jeans: American Eagle; knit cap: Target; flats: Jessica Simpson; rings: Lucky Brand

After a several month hiatus, I've finally gotten off my ass and started blogging again. I was out of town for a few months working and necessity kept me from packing anything worthy of blogging. I missed my wardrobe nearly as much as I missed Babe and Lando.
I love this mullet top. As witnessed by pic #2 I often spend time just twirling in it. Any time I wear something that floats this effortlessly, all I do is twirl. Then sit with my head between my legs.
Found the hot pink Jessica Simpson ballet flats on clearance. My victory dance scared the Macy's employees and other patrons. Not a big deal, I'm used to embarrassing myself in public.

Meet Lando!

Babe and I decided to start a family, so we adopted Lando for the Humane Society. He's 10 months old and has already declared the whole house his domain. And if there are any sci fi nerds out there reading this, yes he is named after Lando Calrissian. I'm a huge sci fi nerd and proud of it.

Do you Remember the 70's?

crop top: PacSun; flares: F21; shoes: Jessica Simpson shades: Oakley; ring: F21

I was only alive for a week and a half of the 70's, but I think I've got the vibe down with this outfit. High waisted flared jeans, platform heels and a cropped top. I think I've seen a picture of my mother in a version of this outfit. I'm normally not one for a high waist, but the moment I tried these on, I knew they were coming home with me.

Black & Tan

dress: Target; belt: Mango; platforms: Jeffrey Campbell

I'm not one to usually pair tan or brown with black. Truth be told, I don't wear a lot of brown or tan. I feel it blends with my skin tone and I look a bit naked. But this combo just wouldn't leave my mind. I love this tank dress. It's so soft and comfortable. I love maxi dresses.

Happy V Day

skirt/cardigan: F21; tank: Target; tights: Hue
boots: Nine West

Valentine's Day. I kinda suck at it. I'm not one of those girls that gets all excited buying gifts and chocolates for everyone I've ever met. The only thing about V Day that I truly love is the chocolate. And of course Babe. As long as I get to spend time with him, I'm good. I put this look together to sit on the couch pictured, watch bad movies, and eat sushi. My idea of a great V Day. What did you do with yours?

Finally!!

I finally own purple suede Litas. Thank you, that is all.

"Paging Doctor Marten"

shirt: men's Hanes, shorts: F21, tights: Target, boots: Doc Marten

I love these boots. Never thought of myself as a Doc Marten girl before. These are a pair of hand me downs that were too big for a friend. Never before was I glad for my big ole' size 9's. And the color? Completely wicked. I've wanted a dark red boot forever. Never realized that I wanted them in the form of Docs. But I did. I so did.

Fountains of Lace

dress: F21; slip: Free People; shoes: H by Halston

I've been wanting a lace dress for quite some time now and I stumbled across this one at F21. It came with a black slip and ribbon belt with a flower pin. I'm not a big fan of huge flowers so the belt had to go. And isn't the purple lace slip underneath so much better than a plain black one? Even though it was lace over lace, my unmentionables were never mentioned. I put this together for a friends birthday dinner at Gulfstream Park. Casino, horse racing, restaurants and shops. All day fun. Must get back to check out the shopping.
